Overview:

• This course meets the International Register of Certificated Auditors Criteria, PR328 Course Specification

• to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of quality management systems against ISO 9001, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable.

• Students who complete this CQI and IRCA Certified QMS Auditor/Lead Auditor Training course successfully (within the three years prior to making an application to become a certificated auditor) will satisfy the training requirements for initial certification as a CQI and IRCA QMS auditor.

Learning Objectives:

KNOWLEDGE

• Explain the purpose of a quality management system, of quality management systems standards, of management system audit, of third-party certification and the business benefits of improved performance of the quality management system.
• Explain the role and responsibilities of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow-up a quality management system audit accordance with ISO 19011, and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable.

SKILLS

• Plan, conduct, report and follow-up an audit of a quality management system to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 9001 and in accordance with ISO 19011, and ISO/IEC 17021, as applicable.

KNOWLEDGE

• Explain the purpose of a quality management system and the business benefits of improving quality management system performances.
• Explain the ISO 9001, PDCA cycle and QMS requirements.
• Explain the purpose of, and differences between, a first-party, second-party and third-party certification audit of management systems, including the role of the QMS Auditor in evaluating an organization’s ability to meet the customer, statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the products and services, and the organization’s own requirements.
• Explain the benefits of third-party accredited certification of quality management systems for organizations and stakeholders.
• Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow-up a quality management system audit in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO/IEC 17021 as applicable).

Prerequisites:

Students are expected to have the following prior knowledge:

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

• The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle

• The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continuous improvement.

QUALITY MANAGEMENT

• The fundamental concepts and the seven quality management principles (see ISO 9000):

• Customer focus
• Leadership
• Engagement of people
• Process approach
• Improvement
• Evidence-based decision making
• Relationship management

• The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction.

ISO 9001

• Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001 and the commonly used quality management terms and definitions, as given in ISO 9000, which may be gained by completing an CQI and IRCA Certified QMS Foundation Training course or equivalent.

Examination:

An examination will be administered by CQI and IRCA via SARAS system. The examination would cover the topics covered in the course and would last one hour forty-five minutes. All the examination would be managed and results provided by CQI and IRCA.

All delegates who have successful passed the above courses have the opportunity to register as QMS lead auditor with the CQI and IRCA. (Note: See *)


 Who should attend:

• Delegates with some understanding of the content, application, development and implementation of the ISO 9001 series of standards and who wish to subsequently practice as an QMS auditor.

• Management Representatives, internal auditors, 2nd party & 3rd party auditors who are responsible to provide “value added” QMS audit to enable Continual Improvement.

Describe and explain the evolution, purpose and benefits of a ‘Process Based’ & ‘PDCA’ QMS System and the 8 quality management principles

Understand the intent, content and interrelationship of the ISO 9000 family

Plan & conduct a “Process Approach” audit effectively

Target : Middle management, engineers, supervisors or personnel performing internal quality system audit.

3. ISO 9001:2015 QMS Introduction and Awareness Training (In-house)

 

Learning Objectives:

Gain an overview of the ISO 9001 ‘Process Based’ QMS Model.

Understand the requirements of the ISO 9001, its relevance and importance to your job performance

Target : Supervisory level and operations staff.

4. ISO 9001:2015 QMS Introduction and Implementation Training (In-house)

 

Learning Objectives:

Understand the principles, concept and requirements of the ISO 9001 ‘Process Based’ QMS model.

Understand the additional flexibility allowed by the lastest edition in QMS documentation & “Value” of documentation & its implemtation.

Target : Personnel in middle management, engineers/supervisors, document controllers and those who are mission specific.

5. ISO 9001:2015 QMS Executive Briefing (In-house)

 

Learning Objectives:

Understand & apply philosophy of 8 Quality Management principles, concepts and requirements of the ISO 9001 ‘Process Based’ & ‘PDCA’ QMS Model.

Develop participants’ ability to develop Implementation Strategies.
